The Government Agreement visa allows people to enter Australia under the terms of a bilateral agreement between Australia and another country or to direct the operations of one of the following organisations: the British Council, the Alliance Francaise, the Goethe-Institut, the Italian Cultural Institute. This visa is for people who have the support of an Australian signatory and a foreign government to enter Australia under the terms of a bilateral agreement between them. Depending on the terms of the relevant Government agreement and the work or activity the visa holder will be engaged in, they can generally stay in Australia for the period specified in the agreement up to 2 years.
