3.8.8.60 Continuation, Variation or Termination of RAA

Summary

The following table lists the circumstances in which payment of RAA may change.

Payment of RAA is…

If…

terminated,

- the recipient permanently leaves the RAA remote area (1.1.R.150).

suspended,

- the recipient is absent from their usual place of residence for MORE than 8 weeks.

varied,

- the recipient's FTB or regular care (RC) child is overseas,

- the recipient's FTB or RC child or partner (1.1.P.70) dies, or

- the recipient permanently separates from their partner.

Death of a recipient

RAA can be paid as part of a LBP.

Reviews

RAA is reviewed when a change in the recipient's circumstances may affect their:

  • qualification for RAA, OR
  • payability of RAA, OR
  • rate of RAA.

 

RAA qualification is also reviewed if a recipient's qualification for RAA could NOT be determined at the time of lodging a claim.

Explanation: The purpose of the review is to determine whether the recipient now qualifies for RAA.
