11.1.8.30 Non-contact by Income Managed Person Following a Rate Change

Non-contact following a rate change

Where there are changes in a person's circumstances that result in a rate change, the delegate should ensure that during regular contact with the person the delegate should ascertain that the person's priority needs are being met, and whether changes to allocations are required. When contact with a person is not immediately possible, the delegate may need to use their discretion and make a judgement in allocating the income managed funds, based on the person's previous pattern of allocation.

In addition, funds may be kept in the person's income management account until the person's next scheduled contact, or until they make a change to a deduction.

Note: Following any reduction of payment or rate change, priority needs must be met prior to paying any portion of an unrestricted direct payment.
