10.13.4.20 Where People Can Lodge Claims Under the Agreement with Denmark

Where claims can be lodged

Claims for Australian benefits covered by the Agreement with Denmark can be lodged:

Article 11 of the Agreement with Denmark allows for the date a claim is lodged in the territory of either party to be accepted as the date of lodgement in Australia or Denmark.

Article 12 of the Agreement allows for a claim for Danish pension to be regarded as a claim for an Australian pension and the date on which the Danish claim was lodged to be treated as the lodgement date of the Australian claim. There is no time limit relating to the date the claim is received in Australia. A similar provision applies for Australian claims to be regarded as Danish claims.
