1.1.R.05 RapidConnect (NSA, YA)

Usage

This definition applies to the claim process for NSA and YA.

Definition

RapidConnect will improve a job seeker and early school leaver's (1.1.E.05) chances of finding a job or enrolling in a course of education or training, by rapidly connecting them with a JSA provider after they contact Centrelink about claiming NSA or YA.

Unless exempt from RapidConnect, a person intending to claim or transfer to NSA or YA is required to attend an interview with their JSA provider within 2 working days of initial contact and before finalising their claim for income support. Their payment does not become payable until they have connected with a JSA provider.

Early school leavers will also be subject to RapidConnect. A JSA provider will assist an early school leaver to access one or more appropriate courses of education or training in combination with other approved activities.
