1.1.F.170 Fourteen hours rule for HCC only CA (child) (CA)

Definition

For the purposes of CA (child), the 14 hours rule states that a child must require and receive AT LEAST 14 hours per week of additional care and attention in order to meet the definition of 'requiring substantially more care and attention (1.1.S.390) than a child of the same age without a disability'.

The care and attention is assessed using information provided by a child's THP (1.1.T.170) on the claim for CA. It is measured in hours per week.

The 14 hours rule is not prescribed by legislation.
