An ACO that is eligible for FTB Part A receives an annual rate of $1,438.10 for 0-19 year olds (until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 19).
From 1 July 2013 ACOs also receive CES Part A. This is calculated as 1.7% of the annual rate. It is payable for each child for the same period that FTB Part A is paid for that child.
ACOs cannot be paid:

There is no income test for ACOs.
An ACO cannot share the care of an FTB child, and therefore cannot be paid a part rate of FTB Part A.
Explanation: A determination to share FTB Part A can only be made when 2 or more individuals share the care of an FTB child. Each individual must care for the child for between 35% and 65% of the assessment period.
Act reference: FAAct section 59 Shared care percentage where individual is FTB child of more than one person who are not members of the same couple
