2.8.1.30 JETCCFA Eligibility Criteria - Voluntary Claimants

Introduction

This topic explains the JETCCFA eligibility criteria for voluntary claimants.

Voluntary claimants (1.1.V.15)

A person is eligible for JETCCFA for care if:

• they are eligible for and receiving CCB for approved care at the maximum rate, and
• they receive CCB as reduced fees, and
• the person's child is attending an approved child care service, and
• the person is liable to pay for the care, and
• they have been granted, but not been cancelled from one of the following payments:
  • newstart allowance,
  • YA (for job seekers),
  • carer payment,
  • widow allowance,
  • widow B pension,
  • parenting payment,
  • partner allowance,
  • SpB paid to people who did not qualify for PP because they did not satisfy the PP residence requirement in paragraph 500(1)(b) of the Social Security Act 1991, and did not have a SpB activity agreement,
  • SpB paid to people who did not qualify for NSA because they did not satisfy the NSA residence requirement of the Social Security Act 1991, and did not have a SpB activity agreement,
  • CDEP participant supplement (only where the person had immediate previous entitlement to a JETCCFA eligible income support payment but which is no longer payable due to CDEP income),
  • a means tested payment under ABSTUDY, and
• they have a JETCCFA EPP (1.1.J.95) in force, and
• they have a JETCCFA activity (1.1.J.30) specified in their EPP, and
• they have not exceeded the length of time for which JETCCFA can be paid for activities in their EPP, and
• they comply with the terms of their EPP, and
• approved child care is required by the person to participate in the JETCCFA approved activities specified in their EPP.
