The standard hourly rate for all types of approved care, except part-time and non-standard hours care in FDC and IHC, is $3.90 per hour.
The standard hourly rate for approved care non-standard hours in FDC and IHC is $5.20 per hour. Non-standard hours are:
Example: Paul, a sole parent receiving maximum CCB, is unexpectedly called into work on Saturday. Paul leaves his child, Ashlin, in care from 8.30 am until 3.30 pm. Paul's CCB entitlement is $5.20 per hour for all the hours of care provided that day.

Example 1: Kate and Lisa are a couple and use FDC for their child, Eve, and the number of child care hours they use per week changes regularly. During week 1, Eve is in child care for 40 hours. The family's CCB entitlement is based on $4.88 per hour for that week. In week 2, Eve is in child care for 30 hours. The family's CCB entitlement is based on $5.20 per hour that week.
Example 2: This example combines non-standard and part-time hours of care. Molly, a sole parent receiving maximum CCB, is a shift worker. In week 1, Molly leaves her child, Jane, in care from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm each weekday. As Jane is in care for 30 hours in this week, her CCB entitlement is $5.20 per hour for all the care provided. In week 2, Jane is in care each weekday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. In this week, Molly's CCB entitlement is $4.88 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, at the part-time hourly rate, and $5.20 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the non-standard hourly rate.
The standard hourly rate for registered care is $0.652.
