An amount a person is liable to pay their child care service per child for each JETCCFA hour of care provided.
From 31 December 2012, the parental contribution is $1 per JETCCFA hour for each child in care.
Teenage parents (i.e. a parent who is under 20 years of age) as well as persons residing in one of the 10 identified disadvantaged locations and participating in the Building Australia's Future Workforce (BAFW) targeted initiatives - Support for Jobless Families and Helping Young Parents measures will be excluded from the new parental contribution rate. These parents will continue to pay 10 cents per JETCCFA hour for each child in care while they remain a teenage parent or a participant in these trials.
Note: From 3 July 2006 to 30 December 2012, the JETCCFA parental contribution was 10 cents per JETCCFA hour for each child in care.
