1.1.P.90 Portability

Definition

For the purposes of FA, portability refers to a recipient's continuing entitlement (1.1.E.30) to an Australian FA payment (1.1.F.02) and/or social security payment (1.1.S.80) while outside Australia (1.1.A.120). Once portability of entitlement is established, payments may continue in Australia or be directed overseas, depending on the type of payment and/or the duration of the absence.
