1.1.C.27 Claim (CCB)

Definition: claim for approved care fee reduction

For the purposes of CCB, a claim for approved care by fee reduction refers to an applicant's request to the FAO for an assessment of:

  • their eligibility for CCB,
  • their CCB %,
  • the weekly limit of hours, and
  • whether the child is a school child.

 

If the applicant meets all the eligibility requirements and provides all of the necessary information, the claim results in the reduction of the fees they pay to their child care centre. The claim can be lodged:

  • by mail,
  • over the counter, or
  • if the applicant is an FTB recipient, by telephone.

Definition: CCB claim for approved care lump sum

For the purposes of CCB, a claim for approved care as a lump sum refers to an applicant's request to the FAO for payment of their approved care CCB entitlement in one lump sum. This request is to be submitted after the completion of the relevant financial year. The applicant and their partner, if they have one, should have lodged their tax return with the ATO, if required to lodge, for their entitlement to be calculated. The claim can be lodged:

  • by mail, or
  • over the counter.

Definition: claim for registered care CCB

For the purposes of CCB, a claim for registered care refers to an applicant's written request to the FAO for payment of their registered care CCB entitlement. A claim is to be submitted with receipts from the service provider covering the period for which the applicant is seeking CCB. Applicants must claim their CCB entitlement within 12 months of the care being provided. The claim can be lodged:

  • by mail, or
  • over the counter.
